Kiwanis Club: Head Start Book Reading & Donation
Joining forces with our local Kiwanis Club of Seminole Breakfast, Lighthouse has become involved in delivering free books and reading children's books to St. Petersburg area pre-school children. Most of the children are participants of federally funded programs such as Head Start. The success of the program has created a large demand for books and Lighthouse volunteers!

The impact of the Lighthouse and Kiwanis Reading Program partnership has also been featured on WTVT: Fox 13 News. The publicity resulted in numerous book donations from individuals and organizations such as Simon & Schuster Publishers, Holland and Knight Law Firm, SACS Group Inc., SeashellBooks.com and Wilson's Books. The support of everyone involved is greatly appreciated and will help many more pre-school children develop a love for reading and good books.
