Dear Lighthouse Credit Foundation,

As I am now happily completing your program, having paid off my unsecured, mainly credit card debt I want first to express my gratitude to you and those of your colleagues who have handled my file over the past 2 1/2 years.

The discipline and ease which your program offered was of great help and the reduction in interest charges which you negotiated on my behalf had a significant impact on my cash flow and thus ability to pay. In a way it was also inspiring to do this as part of your program.

I disapprove of telemarketing and I am generally not fond of what I consider modern technology driven promotions. However, in the summer of 2001 I thought I had nothing to lose by actually asking the person who promoted debt counseling what indeed he meant. That was the only call I accepted and it eventually led me to Lighthouse. I continue not to entertain telemarketing calls but my Lighthouse experience makes me forgive all of those who call me. Actually I receive still quite a few debt counseling promotions. I believe I ended up with the best.

I had actually had preliminary discussions with my primary bank before I found you. However they wanted collateral which I could not provide as most of my assets are tax deferred.

As to the service I received from Lighthouse I am very happy as I have already on several occasions indicated. So once more to all of you my heartfelt thanks.

Now that our debt is gaining control, and we are reaching the end, I wanted to take the time to thank the staff at Lighthouse.

My husband and I come from working class (and proud of it), yet did not obtain a credit card until our mid 30s. Life as they say, went a few unfortunate turns, and long story short, our credit card debt became out-of-control, primarily due to interest. We are intelligent people, but were ignorant and did not understand how the credit card system works.

At the time of discovering this debt, luckily I heard about your organization. It was a relief to be able to pull all of it under one roof, take a breath, and through working with your staff, chisel this nightmare away. I was very overwhelmed about it at first, but through the time we have been working with your organization, I have learned: how the credit system works (the fine print), how to change our spending habits, and how to maintain control of our finances. My husband and I will be in our 50s soon, and it is a relief at this point in our lives to come to grips with all of this.

Everytime I spoke with someone at the Lighthouse organization, I have found them patient and very helpful. I am sure they talk to people all the time, who are very stressed and frustrated with their situation, so it is commendable that the staff remain professional, yet compassionate to the concerns of their clients.

And, your newsletters have been an additional bonus as well. It is important that you continue to empower your clients in understanding how to gain control of their finances.

Good Afternoon,

I would like to say a few things concerning the Customer Service at Lighthouse Credit. I usually dread contacting a call center, but my experience with your Customer Service has now changed that. I spoke with one of your representatives this afternoon to resolve an issue with my account. He was more than helpful with my questions.In regards to my personal situation, he was able to give me a few tips on how to handle my credit. I have a better understanding of my credit situation after talking with him. I would just like to thank the Customer Service Center at Lighthouse Credit for making my life that much easier. If all call centers were as good as Lighthouse’s the world would be a much happier place.

I have been on two aircraft carriers, the USS Eisenhower (CVN 69) and USS Independence (CV62). I am in Engineering so there is a rivalry with those shipboard passengers.Currently, I am on the USS Sacramento (AOE 1) and we deliver fuel and ammunition to the aircraft carriers and support ships. Thanks for asking. I cannot blame the Navy but too much time away from home was too much for my marriage. Trying to take care of a divorce and financial matters while going to sea has not been easy.

As a supervisor I will keep your service available to others who may have gotten in over their heads. I also thank you for asking of my job. I have been in over 18 years and people react differently to it. It has not been an easy life but I will never regret doing it.
