LIGHTHOUSE CREDIT FOUNDATION SPONSORS FREE BACKPACKS TO PINELLAS PARK BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB
LARGO, Fla.- (July 15, 2005)-
More than 150 Pinellas Park Boys and Girls Club members will receive free backpacks on Monday, July 25, 2005, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the Boys and Girls club, located at 7790 61st Street North in Pinellas Park. Lighthouse Credit Foundation sponsors the “Backpack to School” program.
Lighthouse will provide lunch and free backpacks donated by Bay area businesses including, Wal-Mart, Publix Supermarket Charities, Sweet Tomatoes, Winn Dixie, Cesarina’s Deli, Caspers Company, Sam’s Club and Gerdau Ameristeel.
For the fourth consecutive year, the new backpacks will be filled various school supplies.
Lighthouse employees will volunteer at the event to prepare and distribute lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.; after lunch the backpacks will be distributed.
“We are involved in many community projects benefiting children and education, and we are especially impressed with the work done at the Boys and girls Clubs of the Suncoast.” said Mary Melcer, president of Lighthouse Credit Foundation. “Lighthouse Credit Foundation hopes the back-to-school essentials will get these children excited about the new school year and inspire them to look forward to a new year of learning.”
Lighthouse works within the community and strives to be a resource for those in need. Lighthouse works closely with several community outreach programs to offer assistance through its workforce, and by donating time and money to many deserving organizations such as the YMCA, Pinellas Education Foundation and Boys and Girls Clubs of the Suncoast.
